Herman Cain to endorse Newt Gingrich today...

Herman Cain likely to endorse Newt Gingrich today...

(UPDATE: It appears the endorsement isn't being made today. I still believe its coming in the next week or so.)

Various news sources are reporting that Herman Cain will endorse former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich for the Republican nomination for President later today. Cain suspended his own campaign Saturday afternoon after repeated allegations by a handful of women destroyed his stature in the GOP polls. The latest, an accusation of a 13 year affair with Ginger White, emerged in the media last week.

Gingrich's own campaign has seem a major course correction over the last few weeks moving from single digits in most polls to front-runner status. Of the upcoming first four primaries (NH, IA, SC and FL) the former Speaker holds leads in the later three. Winning 3 of the first 4 primaries would give Gingrich a strategic advantage heading down the primary path through the Winter and early Spring.

Various news reports on Cain's upcoming endorsement of Gingrich:

Fox NewsHuffington Post , Washington Post, The Hill, Newsmax...

The announcement is expected mid-day...
