As someone who spends a great deal of time every week in nursing homes, I have already seen organised efforts to push back against this path of reform. Letters of concern have been posted, sent to families and local elected officials. Phone campaigns have been set up to share the concerns for reduced Medicaid funding for nursing homes, which will cause some facilities to close. Which then moves more patients into other facilities already struggling with on going staffing issues and over crowding problems.
What I haven't seen anywhere, yet...is if any waivers are available like the current administration has provided under the guise of the Affordable Care Act.
